Saturday, October 5th: 9:00am–5:00pm
Sunday, October 6th: 9:00am–4:00pm
This retreat will be a practice of inhabiting and un-bounding our body-mind with Presence, supported by the powerful lineage technology of the Zen tradition, while also connecting with the qualities of spiritual longing, devotion and passion for opening to the divine, drawing on poetic inspiration and method from Tantric and Sufi traditions. Think Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, Padmasambhava and Jalal al-Din Rumi sharing a cup of coffee and dreaming up what will nourish folks on the Way of Wisdom-Love.
Jogen Salzberg Sensei has been practicing meditation since 1997, he entered monastic training at Great Vow in 2003 and received Dharma Transmission, full teaching empowerment in the Soto Zen lineage from Chozen Bays Roshi and Hogen Bays Roshi in 2017. Jogen draws on training and inspiration from the Dzogchen tradition, Zen spacious heart and inquiry into the nature of self, Depth psychology, Process work and Tantric energy practices. Since 2011 He has been a student of Dzogchen teacher Keith Dowman. Jogen is one of the guiding teachers at Great Vow Monastery and Heart of Wisdom Temple in Portland. Jogen leads a weekly meditation gathering at Heart of Wisdom, and DJ’s for the live-blended listening meditation event Beyond the Sound.
